There Are Always Requirements

It often seems a fact of life that processes are made to be broken. In nearly all the organizations where the author has directed testing efforts–large or small–there have been times when best practices regarding feature design and product requirements were knowingly dodged. Recently, Drew encountered an example of this, where a new report was required to address an immediate need of a new customer. The deadline for completion was firm, and the information needed came late. This article reveals some of the lost processes Drew found in digging for more information.

Taking Quality on the Road

Ways exist to share testing and quality experience with customers and expand revenue opportunities. Clients often lack formal expertise to lend to product acceptance testing efforts and may be eager to fund cooperative projects. Drew recently took several quality efforts "on the road" and provided significant services to software customers, while expanding testing processes and providing invaluable experiences for testing staff.
