An Objective Method for Defect Evaluation This article is intended to provide a model for evaluating decisions under uncertainty based on perceived variation from reference points rather than as finite standalone outcomes as defined by both expected utility and prospect theory. Based on the assumption that changes and differences between sequential states are much more accessible than absolute levels of stimulation, the model detailed in this paper allows the visualization of impacts generated by defects as uncertain events in different mental accounts (here defined as judgment areas) therefore facilitating their transformation in risky prospects. As a result decision makers are being provided with a consistent method of evaluation of the risks induced by uncertain prospects in different judgment areas. |
