what is the definition of developer

Previous conferences of Star West and the agile methodology in general have accepted the concept that testers and programmers are both subsets of the developer category. Is this still the accepted definition or are programmers the only team members that are considered developers.

It really depends who you talk to; there are no authorities on this.

"Software Developer" as a catch-all term for programmers that take responsiiblity for the solution, not just programming, became popular in the late 1990's and early 2000's.

"Developer" as someone who works in the story of development became popular shortly after that.

I like to think of it this way: Donald Trump never picked up a shovel, but he's still a developer right?

Mother of software application. He will be responsible for developing the child without fining anything wrong with the application that he is developing. For her, the kid(software application) is the best kid in the world. She feds and nurtures to make the application grow.

Tester is like father. He used to find the issues with the kid(software application) and tries to rectify that. For that he cant directly scold the child. Instead he will direct mother to bring the kid to a better position.
