Jain has a considerable base of industry experience to draw on as he discusses modeling, simulation, and analysis methods for a variety of systems including networks, database management systems, and distributed systems. The book assumes substantial statistical background from the reader and can be pretty tough to plow through. It includes a good case study from Digital Equipment Corporation.
